I've also been taking classes in mindfulness...it's been very healing and empowering.
I've also been volunteering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
I'm expecting 16-18 for xmas dinner with some get togethers before and after too. So life is good.
Hope all is going well with everyone here. 28797. ms. no - 12/23/2015 6:04:24 AM I have a mini mindfullness coloring book. That and Zentangle are as close as I get to meditation currently. Thanksgiving last year my whole family sat and colored together for hours. I'm excited for the fad since it means there are a ton of great adult coloring books.
I've done some semi-mindful creative writes with my students to focus them and get them to be more descriptive in their writing. 28812. Ms. No - 3/13/2016 7:50:34 PM Saw a great concert last night -- Cage the Elephant headlined and they kicked ass! Four total bands with Silversun Pickups, Foals, and Bear Hands. I expected SSPU to be my next faves, and their frontman gives excellent show, but I liked Foals' music more. I only knew one of their songs going in, but I'm streaming three of their albums on Prime today trying to figure out what my digital purchases will be.
I can't remember why I got out of the habit of seeing live music. It's like I held onto the concept of "expensive" from my college days when $50 for a concert ticket was something I could maybe do once a year.
It seems like tickets have gotten cheaper in general, or maybe it's just that the bands I want to see are less expensive. At any rate, I intend to see a lot more music than I have in the past.
28813. wabbit - 3/13/2016 11:10:55 PM My S-i-L just reminded me last weekend that it was 20 years ago that we went to Lollapalooza. What a fun weekend that was. Metallica, Soundgarden, the Ramones, Screaming Trees, Rage Against the Machine, Cocteau Twins, Violent Femmes...great time. My brother was freaked out by what he called the "Korn Kids", sitting against against a fence cutting...and nobody there to stop them or talk to them.
His younger daughter became a cutter. I'd love to say I was shocked.
