34. Amerikanvampire - 9/11/1999 8:09:13 AM The only thing that gets screwed up on my browser is the next post's title. I'm on Nav 4.08. 35. SpenceMirrlees - 9/11/1999 8:09:50 AM The placement of all the stuff on the butterscotch bar to the right gets screwed up on my IE 5. 36. SpenceMirrlees - 9/11/1999 8:10:34 AM Yes, it only stays messed up until the next post, at least as long as the next post starts with a (/font). 37. CalGal - 9/11/1999 8:11:34 AM No, on my browser the butterscotch bar disappears and everything on it appears beneath the post. It looks exactly as if you'd copied the source code into your post--which, as I said, is why I growled at you originally. I thought you were Pike playing around.
It apparently only looks odd until someone else posts.
38. Amerikanvampire - 9/11/1999 8:16:55 AM Well, then. Follow around people who drop "s in their HTML and shriek dementedly. No one else will notice a problem. 39. Amerikanvampire - 9/11/1999 8:17:30 AM I'm outta here. 40. Amerikanvampire - 9/11/1999 8:20:12 AM I'm outta here. 41. CalGal - 9/11/1999 8:22:48 AM Well, if you are, you're far too sensitive for this place.
Seriously, I only growled at you the first time. When you responded and I realized you really hadn't tried to do anything, I asked you what you did, to determine if a minor mistake could cause such mayhem. (saying you missed a " wasn't a complete description.)
And yes, indeed, it could.
I never yelled at you again, and I was kidding about not trying HTML (hence the "seriously" of the next post). So chill out.
42. AmerikanVampire - 9/11/1999 8:31:11 AM It's got nothing to do with sensitivity. If the HTML sucks so bad that the whole page falls apart with one dropped character and the coders suck so bad that when something goes wrong they assume someone's deliberately screwing with them, instead of knowing that there's gaping holes in their code, I'll go elsewhere for the nonce. The dumb-ass commentary really isn't a factor if you're used to the CNN boards. So, please, you needn't explain your surliness any further. 43. CalGal - 9/11/1999 8:36:10 AM Fair enough. Have a nice life. 44. robertjayb - 9/11/1999 8:52:34 AM N E V E RL E T T E R S P A C EI T A L I C S 45. robertjayb - 9/11/1999 9:00:35 AM N E V E R L E T T E R S P A C E I T A L I C S 46. SpenceMirrlees - 9/11/1999 9:09:29 AM AmerikanVampire, that really isn't it at all. That error makes the placement of the next post look a lot like a particular trick some people have pulled. That's what I thought when I first saw it; it was a natural inference. 47. ScottLoar - 9/11/1999 9:11:04 AM Just practicing actually , or trying my hand as some few others might say. 48. ScottLoar - 9/11/1999 9:11:49 AM "Most impressive" results. 49. CalGal - 9/11/1999 9:12:57 AM Scott--In case you didn't see it, there is a link for HTML hints. Although you seem to be doing fine without it. 50. ScottLoar - 9/11/1999 9:14:58 AM Actually, that is exactly the place I got these tricks from. 51. CalGal - 9/11/1999 9:16:05 AM Oh. I am pleased, then. And glad to see you here. 52. robertjayb - 9/11/1999 9:20:12 AM BOLD italics?
How did he do that? 53. ScottLoar - 9/11/1999 9:20:33 AM You people must do everything possible to solicit new talents lest this become altogether too clubby and in familiarity we become the very things we dislike in others.
