What really upsets me is when I think about the condition the country was in when w took over...we had so much economic strength, respect in the world, a world largely at peace, a global economic model that was working setting a path for development and wiping out poverty as had never been seen before, we had a fiscal surplus which could've been used to give the country world class health care, education and infrastructure...
What a waste. What an absolute, total, shameful waste.

I think I've made the case here before that when conservatives leave their campaign rhetoric in the dust and take up a government job they realize they have to govern and because of their anti-government sentiments they are ill-prepared for the job. This partially explains Reagan's deficits and debacles, and Bush's hopelessness as a leader.
