453. arkymalarky - 10/2/1999 4:47:30 AM Can you use the font (in say, Word) in both places?
Yes, I can. I'll try changing folders. Thanks for the help, and I'll let you know this week whether it worked. 454. CalGal - 10/2/1999 4:48:01 AM Changing the only possible typo--but this works fine in preview, as did the first.

Polar bear Clementine dives to take a closer look at a white dog at the Aalborg Zoo in Denmark on Friday. The zoo's four polar bears took possession of their new enclosure earlier in the day.

2083. RickNelson - 10/2/99 5:20:07 AM I let my Netscape go two years ago and have kept my IE, which has been for the most part very reliable. I suppose I could have kept both, I'm not able to get to the flags musings.
2084. RickNelson - 10/2/99 5:20:54 AM hmmm, isn't that an interesting wrap.
2085. pellenilsson - 10/2/99 5:21:48 AM What did I do wrong? Should I have added a string of line breaks?
2086. RickNelson - 10/2/99 5:25:33 AM Based solely on intuition, for I've never done one myself, I think you have the correct answer.
455. dusty - 10/2/1999 4:48:41 AM Arky, if you like the look of Bellevue, but want a font everyone can see, there is probably a font similar in appearance. Commercial Script BT is a font with some similarity to Bellevue, although Bellevue is nice in that it has a formal look, but the lower case is less flowery. 456. CalGal - 10/2/1999 4:49:44 AM Hmm. Okay, so he had no typo and it worked in preview.

457. dusty - 10/2/1999 4:51:18 AM If people list fonts they are interested in using, I'll try to copy them onto my webpage, and set up a single place to download them, as a short term solution. Longer term, we should either load them onto the same server as the Mote pages, or identify a more permanent place. Perhaps the site that hosts the archives? 458. CalGal - 10/2/1999 4:52:06 AM Trying again...

461. Cellar Door - 10/2/1999 4:55:32 AM I keep expecting the Polar bear to eat that dog. 462. arkymalarky - 10/2/1999 4:58:45 AM I'll check that one out, Dusty. I'm not stuck on Bellevue, it's just one of a handful I could get to work on my school pc and then it wouldn't show up at home, but since it's not free that may explain it. I don't know if I have it on my home pc anywhere, but some I've tried I do have. That's what's so weird. But if your suggestion of switching folders works, there are several I really like a lot better than Bellevue. I'll use Arial or TNR for body copy, but since I don't have any tools or skill in graphics, I'm just using other fonts for headings and subheadings and the first page and such.
Part of what aggravated me was that I was going to show my husband what I'd done and when I went to the page it was TNR, and it didn't look nearly as nice. 463. pseudoerasmus - 10/2/1999 5:47:31 AM My response to Pelle from above:
464. pseudoerasmus - 10/2/1999 5:48:11 AM Shit, i forgot it was a WAV file.
Response to Pelle. 465. pseudoerasmus - 10/2/1999 5:48:47 AM Is that WAV file too big? 466. pseudoerasmus - 10/2/1999 5:58:18 AM Response not to the polar bear pictures, but the bird sound file. 467. dusty - 10/2/1999 6:02:28 AM I was unable to hear the respone. It seemed like it satrted to download, then stopped. On my second try, I got an error page from geocities. 468. pseudoerasmus - 10/2/1999 6:06:33 AM How large was Pelle's WAV file of his greeting? 469. dusty - 10/2/1999 6:11:02 AM If it works, it is a graph of the new posts added to each thread in the eight days between the 22nd and 30th of September. The Politics number of 963 is off the chart.
470. dusty - 10/2/1999 6:14:07 AM His greeting is a .wav file; 155 KB. His other sound is an .au file, but I don't have the size. 471. dusty - 10/2/1999 6:16:43 AM I found it, the loon file is 41k. 472. marjoribanks - 10/2/1999 10:02:43 AM Pseuder,
That large photo you posted is good. Is it yours?
If so, congratulations. It's a good shot, where was it taken? I'm inspired to get scanned a couple of mine on the same theme.
