45636. arkymalarky - 9/21/2013 12:14:38 AM the GOP is just psycho. I've never seen anything like it, and I don't think I've ever said that before. They're really out of their tree. it's unbelievable that people teased about Hillary Clinton being the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. She's nothing compared to the GOP. They don't even know when they've been decapitated. they'd send this country and everyone in it to hell in order to get their way. Piss on a democratic system, piss on majority rule, piss on everything but their way. Nut jobs. Total nut jobs. 45637. judithathome - 9/21/2013 1:16:55 AM The nuttiest thing about it is: they are willing to send this country and everyone in it to hell in order to get their way and the upshot will be: they won't get their way!
Obama would never sign a bill that did away with his own program... 45638. robertjayb - 9/24/2013 1:20:33 AM It’s Weird Out There...
Remember how the folks on food stamps cost our country trillions by selling bets on bad mortgages to suckers?
No, that wasn’t them?
Okay, remember how poor folks got us into a war we didn’t pay for and ran up the debt?
No?
Okay, okay, remember how hungry children paid themselves $175,000 a year plus perks and health care on the taxpayers’ dime?
Well, crap, if you can’t remember that, you you have a bad case of Boehnerphobia or Itchycruz.
But thanks to Ted Cruz and John Boehner, all those hungry children are going to stop ripping off this country, dammit.
Cruz and Boehner have only one demand: reverse the results of the 2012 election or you get a great depression wrapped up with a bow on top.

45640. arkymalarky - 9/24/2013 1:39:59 AM and they don't get how hypocritical they are wrt their abortion stance. 45641. thoughtful - 9/24/2013 3:50:45 PM Must read regarding civil forfeiture (I'm not talking eminent domain here).
Some local police forces are using this to fund up to 40% of their budget!
I had no idea that it was legal under civil statutes to just take your stuff, your money, even your house, just because....no conviction, no warrant, no nothing. I thought we fixed this back in 1776! Apparently not.
civil forfeiture 45642. judithathome - 9/24/2013 7:36:20 PM Thanks for that article...it was GREAT! 45643. arkymalarky - 9/29/2013 10:18:53 PM with apologies in advance to my texas motebuds, & a reminder that I, too, was born a Texan, after watching the shenanigans of the last week or so, I want to make a modest proposal. Give Texas Republican leadership two things that they've been repeatedly asking for: secession from the Union, and that fence they've been harping about. A fence on this side of the Texas line. 45644. arkymalarky - 9/29/2013 10:20:04 PM I'd like to see Ted Cruz in his ilk be required to have a passport and a security clearance before crossing that fence. 45645. arkymalarky - 9/29/2013 10:21:43 PM I'd also like to start a betting pool in that event over how long it will take the majority of these squawking Republicans in Texas to start trying to climb the fence to get back everything that they're enjoying from the rest of this country right now. 45646. robertjayb - 9/30/2013 2:18:50 AM No offense taken by this Texan. But I do want to observe that, like the much-despised (in some circles) Wayne La Pierre of the NRA, Cruz knows exactly what he is doing and is doing it damn well.
He is rounding up the mouth breathing knuckle-draggers to support a quixotic run for president in '16. Not a bad gig. He's young enough to make it a career. 45647. robertjayb - 9/30/2013 4:16:09 AM No offense taken by this Texan. He's young enough to make it a career. 45648. judithathome - 9/30/2013 9:41:07 PM Which is exactly the problem...he will never make it past the Republican Presidential primary and even THAT won't make the gullible supporters of his see the light...hopefully, he will move on to the real money job...on K Street. 45649. arkymalarky - 10/12/2013 8:24:58 PM Question: which will implode first--the economy or the GOP? I've never seen anything like it. 45650. Ms. No - 10/12/2013 8:47:32 PM I want to know what's so Patriotic about holding the entire country (if not soon to be the world) hostage because you didn't get your way in the last democratically held election.
The Affordable Health Care Act is the fucking law. If the Tea Party --- and by default, apparently, the Republicans -- want to grant the President the power to start unilaterally overturning any law he pleases, they should maybe take a moment to think if that's really going to turn out well for them.
They're essentially extortion the President to commit an impeachable offense.
And they call themselves Patriots.
I just hope the President and the Senate stand by the statement that the United States does not negotiate with terrorists. 45651. judithathome - 10/12/2013 9:32:36 PM Amen. 45652. arkymalarky - 10/12/2013 11:27:11 PM Exactly. Well said. They're patriots when they get their way and anyone who disagrees is commo-fascist. They're fine with blowing up everything when things don't go their way. They need to study Solomon. The real mother would never cut the baby in half. 45653. judithathome - 10/13/2013 7:33:24 PM I had to laugh when last week, the Koch brothers chided certain factions of the Republican party by saying the sh(u)it-storm was a bad idea...these two guys created the Tea Party and sic'ed them on the country...they shouldn't be so shocked! shocked, I tell you!! when the mainaical arsonists they set loose actually come back to set fire to THEIR homes. 45654. wabbit - 10/14/2013 11:42:18 PM Saw something on Facebook about a month ago. Usually I bypass all things political on FB, people have dug in and won't be budged and FB sucks at a place for discussion (not that there is much political "discussion" these days).
This one caught my eye and I think it is a great idea. Imagine it - all Congress critters, House and Senate, must wear uniforms. Said uniforms will resemble NASCAR driver uniforms, in that they will be covered with patches, sized according to campaign donations, showing who actually owns their votes. Maybe their cars should be similarly festooned. 45655. arkymalarky - 10/15/2013 2:49:06 AM Lovecthat idea. Big money has created a Frankenstein it can't control and as long as they have the power of the primary they will be a threat to their creators. The best hope for the GOP is a third party.
