46040. judithathome - 10/22/2015 10:31:42 PM All these many months I've watched Investigation Discovery channel for crime shows...I could have seen the same thing by watching C-SPAN...and the Benghazi hearings. 46041. arkymalarky - 10/23/2015 6:26:02 AM So nice of the House GOP to provide Hilary an 11 hour infomercial. 46042. iiibbb - 10/23/2015 4:32:20 PM Too bad Biden bowing out is the most demonstrative thing he could do to show that he really did have the chops to be President.
I literally don't care.... none of the Republicans are qualified.... period. 46043. Ms. No - 10/23/2015 8:41:07 PM And that terrifies me. What is it, like 80% of the time or more that Democratic administrations are followed by Republican ones?
Here's to hoping we're in the 20% this time around. 46044. judithathome - 10/23/2015 9:41:14 PM Seriously, is there ANY Republican running that any of you could see voting for? (I mean if suddenly, there were NO Democrats running?)
If there were ONLY Republicans to choose from...who would it be?
For me, it would be Kasich...if someone held a gun to my head. 46045. judithathome - 10/23/2015 9:44:11 PM Breaking News that has been expected since he declared his plans to run: Lincoln Chaffee has quit the race.
I am so happy he has faced reality...I cringed every single time he was on TV....as we say in the South: bless his heart. 46046. arkymalarky - 10/23/2015 10:08:48 PM I think rubio will be the nominee. But who knows with the prejudice in the GOP base. 46047. arkymalarky - 10/23/2015 10:14:09 PM Hilary is so much more comfortable in her own skin than in '08 and if people remember the disaster that was gwb, we have a good shot at bucking that trend. Especially if the House GOP Freedom Caucus keeps helping the Dems. 46048. judithathome - 10/23/2015 10:51:09 PM I think if Rubio is the nominee, the Republicans can hang it up...I mean....seriously???? 46049. arkymalarky - 10/23/2015 10:59:12 PM Gotta go with who's running, and he's the only one on the board with above 5% who's not coming off to the general population as totally nuts. 46050. judithathome - 10/24/2015 10:06:14 PM Just heard someone say it will be Cruz...he said Cruz is holding back right now to let the insanity settle and the lower ranked guys panic and drop out...and the leading guys slaughter and/or cancel one another out...
When you think of it, if Carson and Trump kill off one another...the snaky Cruz can slither right in under the radar... 46051. arkymalarky - 10/24/2015 10:19:00 PM If people can stand him. So far he has a problem with that. similar to Huckabee, but without being able to turn on the charm like Huckabee can. Speaking of which, he seems to have dropped off the radar. 46052. winstonsmith - 10/25/2015 8:00:37 AM My guess is that it will be Rubio/Fiorina. 46053. judithathome - 10/25/2015 8:37:58 PM Oh yeah...just what we need...a baby-faced guy who looks like teacher's pet and a shrew who failed in business.... 46054. judithathome - 10/25/2015 10:08:40 PM Okay...how many people who are such FANS of Dr. Ben Carson know he is a Seventh Day Adventist?
Is it any wonder he wants to do away with Medicare? Frankly, I'm astonished he allowed blood transfusions during his surgeries.... 46055. winstonsmith - 10/27/2015 1:58:51 AM Yeah, Judith, I agree that neither Rubio or Fiorina are appealing. I'm just thinking that the RNC and primary voters might decide that a Hispanic man and a woman might help them in a general election when matching up against Hillary. 46056. arkymalarky - 10/27/2015 2:38:03 AM I can see Jeb making it. Man what a grouch. 46057. arkymalarky - 10/27/2015 2:38:20 AM Can't 46058. Ms. No - 10/27/2015 2:59:32 AM The whole Ben Carson thing has been tough on my students because they read his book Gifted Hands in their freshman year, and they all get inspired by him and think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
And if all he wanted to do/be was an example of how a kid on the bottom can succeed, that would be fine.
I'm always suspicious of these kinds of inspirational stories. I mean, everyone knows that they are the exception rather than the rule, but the implication is that anyone can do it if they just want to try hard enough. The flip side of that is that anyone who doesn't make it is just plain lazy....which means 99% of poor people.
Yeah, I know poor people with three jobs. Sure, they're just lazy. 46059. judithathome - 10/27/2015 6:29:14 PM Well, Carson will be unique if he wins the Presidential nod...likely he will be the first one to admit he attempted murder at 14. Luckily for the "friend" he attacked with a knife, the guy wore a big buckled belt to school that day....
