Hilary is so much more comfortable in her own skin than in '08 and if people remember the disaster that was gwb, we have a good shot at bucking that trend. Especially if the House GOP Freedom Caucus keeps helping the Dems.

46048. judithathome - 10/23/2015 10:51:09 PM

I think if Rubio is the nominee, the Republicans can hang it up...I mean....seriously????

46049. arkymalarky - 10/23/2015 10:59:12 PM

Gotta go with who's running, and he's the only one on the board with above 5% who's not coming off to the general population as totally nuts.

46050. judithathome - 10/24/2015 10:06:14 PM

Just heard someone say it will be Cruz...he said Cruz is holding back right now to let the insanity settle and the lower ranked guys panic and drop out...and the leading guys slaughter and/or cancel one another out...

When you think of it, if Carson and Trump kill off one another...the snaky Cruz can slither right in under the radar...

46051. arkymalarky - 10/24/2015 10:19:00 PM

If people can stand him. So far he has a problem with that. similar to Huckabee, but without being able to turn on the charm like Huckabee can. Speaking of which, he seems to have dropped off the radar.

46052. winstonsmith - 10/25/2015 8:00:37 AM

My guess is that it will be Rubio/Fiorina.

46053. judithathome - 10/25/2015 8:37:58 PM

Oh yeah...just what we need...a baby-faced guy who looks like teacher's pet and a shrew who failed in business....

46054. judithathome - 10/25/2015 10:08:40 PM

Okay...how many people who are such FANS of Dr. Ben Carson know he is a Seventh Day Adventist?

Is it any wonder he wants to do away with Medicare? Frankly, I'm astonished he allowed blood transfusions during his surgeries....

46055. winstonsmith - 10/27/2015 1:58:51 AM

Yeah, Judith, I agree that neither Rubio or Fiorina are appealing. I'm just thinking that the RNC and primary voters might decide that a Hispanic man and a woman might help them in a general election when matching up against Hillary.

46056. arkymalarky - 10/27/2015 2:38:03 AM

I can see Jeb making it. Man what a grouch.

46057. arkymalarky - 10/27/2015 2:38:20 AM

Can't

46058. Ms. No - 10/27/2015 2:59:32 AM

The whole Ben Carson thing has been tough on my students because they read his book Gifted Hands in their freshman year, and they all get inspired by him and think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

And if all he wanted to do/be was an example of how a kid on the bottom can succeed, that would be fine.

I'm always suspicious of these kinds of inspirational stories. I mean, everyone knows that they are the exception rather than the rule, but the implication is that anyone can do it if they just want to try hard enough. The flip side of that is that anyone who doesn't make it is just plain lazy....which means 99% of poor people.

Yeah, I know poor people with three jobs. Sure, they're just lazy.

46059. judithathome - 10/27/2015 6:29:14 PM

Well, Carson will be unique if he wins the Presidential nod...likely he will be the first one to admit he attempted murder at 14. Luckily for the "friend" he attacked with a knife, the guy wore a big buckled belt to school that day....

The guy from Ohio is the only one I could stomach if I had to. I would probably be able to stomach Jeb except that I hate his brother so much. According to the scores on political ideology Jeb should be my favorite of the Republicans.

But I can't do another Bush.

I'll take Hillary or Sanders. I like Sander's ideals, but I wonder how much he could actually get done. I may view him the way I view libertarians... "looks good on paper" but when you start to look at the practicalities of codifying the ideas without problems... it won't work.

46062. judithathome - 10/27/2015 7:37:09 PM

Do you mean Kasich? I like him but he's getting NO traction...too sane, I guess.

46063. iiibbb - 10/27/2015 10:17:45 PM

Kasich had the integrity to accept the SCOTUS decision on gay marriage even though he doesn't agree with it.

But fundamentally, I wouldn't vote for him over Clinton or Sanders because I don't agree with his politics.

But he's the only honorable candidate on the Republican side based solely on that datapoint.

46064. judithathome - 10/27/2015 10:46:00 PM

I agree...he seems to be more qualified for the job...as opposed to the ones who know nothing about politics but seem to be preferred by idiot Republicans who think people don't even need to know what the job requires or even what the Constitution SAYS....are you kidding me?

Who ARE these people? If you want someone who is clueless, chance are YOU are, too.

46065. judithathome - 10/28/2015 8:51:55 PM

"Our boy" Kasich told it like it is yesterday and rather than being viewed as honest and speaking truth to power, the Trumpists and Carsonites are calling HIM crazy...go figure.

Even Lindsay Graham is bewildered by these fans of two certified idiots..."How am I losin' to these guys??"

How, indeed....

46066. winstonsmith - 10/29/2015 3:26:21 AM

I'm going to have to rethink my Fiorina as veep prediction. I'm watching the debate and she talks and moves like a straight up freak. A super freak.
