He's Presbyterian... it was predestined.

Heh

I know Sarah Palin is the lowest of the low when it comes to slandering others but her jab at President Obama being responsible for her son's alleged PTSD causing his arrest...which she blithely ignored in favor of shilling for Trump in Iowa the day after it happened....she needs to be called out big-time.

This woman has enough money to put her son in a facility and have him treated privately for something like that...if indeed he has it....where other mothers do not have that option. And if government treatment is not avaiable for all, it takes a Congress to change that....not just a President and one party.

And I know of NO mother who would leave her "ailing" son in the hands of authorities and leave the state....just to get face time on TV, to get her fix for public adulation fed.

I guess by extension, Bristol's Problems were caused by Planned Parenthood.

Bernie Sanders has an ad running that is causing people to fall in love with him if they haven't already done so....it was being swooned over this morning by Joe and Mika as though it has cinched the nomination for him...they ran it many times on their morning show and crowed over how wonderful it is, how "representive" of America today....props to Madison Avenue and Simon & Garfunkle!!

If you watch closely, there are maybe four people among the hundreds in that ad that AREN'T white...just sayin'.

Yes, let's make Bernie the Democratic canidate, by all means...he's been an Independent candidate for his entire career but suddenly decided to run as a DEMOCRAT a few months ago....if he feels he is THE ONE to save America, why didn't he run as the candidate of the party that got him there? People have run for President on the Independent ticket in every election....why is Bernie suddently a "Democrat"?

I caught this on Fresh Air with Terry Gross a few nights ago and have been playing it for my government classes today. Fascinating, and chilling.

Dark Money - The Hidden History of the Koch Brothers

You'll have to scroll down the page to find the podcast link.

46156. judithathome - 1/23/2016 9:14:42 PM

Those two are the absolute worst people in this country...haven't listened to it yet but does Terri mention their organization that is trying to get rid of the VA?

46157. Ms. No - 1/24/2016 8:53:18 PM

Terry's on vacation for this one, I can't remember the name of the man filling in for her, but either way, that issue doesn't get covered. The book is Dark Money by Jane Mayer.

46158. judithathome - 1/24/2016 9:01:48 PM

This is the speech they SHOULD have given!

...though it's barely changed at all...ha!

Great Post-Debate Posts in the WAPO Comment Section

What I learned in the Republican debate tonight:

Even though George Bush started two wars he couldn't finish, one in the wrong country, let the economy crash, allowed a major American city to drown, lied to both Congress and the United Nations about the presence of WMD's in Iraq, allowed North Korea to get nuclear weapons and took them off the state terrorism watch list, forgave Qaddafi for blowing up one of our airliners over Scotland, committed absolutely illegal acts of surveillance against the 4th Amendment, promoted torture, destroyed any chance of peace in the Middle East for a generation, handed Iraq over to Iran, allowed the kidnapping of people all over the world by the CIA for rendition to countries where they could be tortured, established a twilight prison in a foreign country for prisoners under indefinite detention with no right to trial or habeas corpus . . . still, Hillary Clinton is the worst person ever and belongs in jail because she used an unsecured email server

=================================

Truly impressive how the Holy Spirit has entered into Marco Rubio the last few days, after polls suggested he had room to pick up a couple of points with evangelicals.

I'm amazed he even wore a suit to the debate, but perhaps he couldn't find a hermit's loincloth that goes with high heels

=================================

John Kasich should just accept his Jon Huntsman memorial "Acting as a Sane Person in a Republican Primary" award and go home.

Crud + Ooze = Ted Cruz

========================

You'd think Christie was a ballet dancer the way he daintily tippy-toes his way around the George Washington Bridge Scandal. You'd never know the New Jersey Governor is one of the country's most powerful state Chief Executives and that NO ONE would have dared close down the Bridge lanes without Christie's orders, direct or implied. It was political payback of the worst kind where the public suffered the consequences of Christie's hissiefit.

(Thanks to Elvis Bus on my forum for this post!)

Just about every issue Trump has refused to specifically address he's deflected by saying "[he's got very good, smart people looking at that issue]". IMHO, his reaction to losing Iowa below would be the reality of his presidency; some crisis going south followed by his responding "[well people told me we had this under control and it just didn't work out as expected]". I don't think Trump has a proactive bone in his body.

“I think we could have used a better ground game, a term I wasn’t even familiar with,” Trump said. “You know, when you hear ‘ground game,’ you say what the hell is that? Now I’m familiar with it. But, you know, I think in retrospect we should have had a better ground game. I would have funded a better ground game, but people told me our ground game was fine. And by most standards it was.”

Is it me, or does Cruz have way too much lipstick on in his "Islamic terrorism/Ronald Reagan" commercial?

46162. arkymalarky - 2/7/2016 7:21:38 PM

Ha-ha! Haven't seen it. I'll have to check it out. I feel like Cruz uses the college debate tactic of annoying the crap out of your opponents to distract them off their game, & I really don't know how that translates to votes in a representative democracy.

Speaking in college debate tactics, Rubio sure could use some of those last night. That was painful.

46163. judithathome - 2/7/2016 9:43:37 PM

I thought it was delightful...if you hit that stage today with Luminol around Marco's podium, it would light up the room with a glow where all that blood was spilled.

46164. arkymalarky - 2/8/2016 12:49:00 AM

Yeah, the way Stan reacted you'd have thought He was watching a prize fight TKO

The Secret to Bernie Sanders' Success

Yep, gotta say I'm a believer.

As someone who was held back by gender in the 1960s-70s-80s, I can sympathize with some of HRC's obstacles -- especially when haters crack on her physical appearance (which is just fine, even excellent). If you are part of the diehard HRC support network, someone should tell you about issues that probably aren't crossing *your* news feed, but that show up for more independent viewers.

A powerful person's private email server used for proprietary business secrets/HIPAA materials etc. could easily result in that person being fired. Most low-level employees are made aware of this (and citizens born after 1990 are more likely to hold females in high positions of power to the same standards as males).

It is not clear what happened to someone in government, male or female, who sent out a "reply to all" memo in 2000 -- but according to this article from Wired, a deadly mistake occurred:

Wired on "Pizza" "...the CIA...has an unfortunate streak of self-pwnage...New York Times national security reporter Jim Risen reported that in 2000, the CIA accidently exposed its entire network of Iranian contacts thanks to a boneheaded reply-all mishap..."

Now fast forward a decade later to to 2011. Some dreadful mistake took down the entire U.S. intelligence network around Iran. Reply-all mistake? Or a private server could have been hacked? ABC on Middle East network disaster " Hezbollah's leader...announced in June of this year that two high-ranking members of Hezbollah had been exposed as CIA spies, leading U.S. officials to conclude that the entire network inside Hezbollah had been compromised...Some former U.S. intelligence officials say the developments are the result of a lack of professionalism in the U.S. intelligence community. "We've lost the tradition of espionage," said one former official who still consults for the U.S. intelligence community. "Officers take short cuts and no one is held accountable," he said."

Does the example of "shortcuts" come from the top? This transgression would get most people fired. They understand why they would get fired. If HRC is an exception to this rule, she is going to have to explain how and why. Maybe you can explain this to her? Many people are insulted that she is running, given the transgression.

46167. arkymalarky - 2/8/2016 7:42:11 PM

For a minute there I thought you Were referring to Condoleezza Rice, and I thought is she running for president?

46168. arkymalarky - 2/8/2016 7:44:40 PM

Of course, probably my news feed is clogged up with left Wing socialist propaganda, as opposed to News feeds of independent viewers such as yourself.

46169. judithathome - 2/8/2016 10:06:51 PM

Mine is, too...isn't that odd?

We, the great "uninformed"...just how DO we manage to maneuver through this muddled world unassisted by those more "in the know"?

Tsk, tsk....
