really....

Lindsey Graham:

"If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you,"

46236. judithathome - 2/27/2016 8:50:06 PM

Also from Lindsay: "My party has gone batshit crazy."

46237. judithathome - 2/27/2016 8:50:40 PM

Marco Rubio is evidently NOT a student of political campaigns...he is probaby too young to remember Dan Quayle's gaff of correcting someone's spelling on camera.

Yesterday he ridiculed Trump's spelling of "choked"...which Trump spelled correctly...by saying to an adoring crowd "He spelled it 'c-h-o-k-e-d" and it's supposed to be 'c-h-o-a-k-e-d'."

Ummmmm....Marco....no.

Man, Hillary is doing so great. It's a completely different candidate from 2008, & I love it. I saw a handmade sign that I want for a bumper sticker: Hillyes!

46239. judithathome - 2/27/2016 10:23:43 PM

Love it!

46240. iiibbb - 2/27/2016 11:07:00 PM

Hillary is a better candidate than last time for sure.

46241. winstonsmith - 2/28/2016 1:00:33 AM

I think she is campaigning very well but it is discouraging to me when I hear so much criticism of her from both the left and the right. The criticism is often inaccurate and undeserved.

46242. arkymalarky - 2/28/2016 2:06:18 AM

I've never cared for Melissa Harris Perry. I always see her as being more focused on how she speaks and presents than who she's talking to or what she's talking about, which may not be fair, but her hissy fit doesn't help her image with me. On the other hand, I absolutely love joy Reid, so I'd love to see her slide into that spot. I hated to see her show get cancelled.

46243. arkymalarky - 2/28/2016 3:46:59 AM

Just wow. Night and day 2008 to now. Super Tuesday is going to be very interesting. I'm just disappointed that Hillary and Bernie didn't go after each other's hair and makeup.

46244. Ms. No - 2/29/2016 4:09:31 AM

Winston,

I'm with you. My liberal friends who are anti-Hillary just have a hate-on for her. One guy I was talking to said he couldn't respect her because she didn't leave her husband after he cheated on her. Another friend - female - couldn't point to anything specific, she just doesn't like her.

This friend and I were talking and she's very pro-Bernie and may actually register to vote this year for the very first time just so she can vote for him. I told her I thought Bernie was a cool dude saying a lot of things that need to be said but he'd be a lousy president because he does't have any real plans for how he's going to single-handedly overcome a hostile Congress when Obama hasn't been able to do so in 8 years.

I also mentioned that I was worried for the Dem's chances because there are so many Bernie supporters who are saying if he doesn't get the nomination they just won't vote.

She then says "Who says that? Where are you hearing this?" and I couldn't point to any specific time I'd heard it in some reputable place other than just overheard hipster conversations.

And not five minutes later she said, I shit you not, "If Bernie doesn't get the nomination, I just won't vote."
It took her all of 15 seconds to realize what she'd said to me. I very politely did not rub it in.

46245. arkymalarky - 2/29/2016 4:56:45 AM

If Trump gets the GOP nomination, as he almost certainly will, they'll vote.

46246. Ms. No - 2/29/2016 5:36:25 AM

They'd fucking better.

My Senior Gov't/Econ class just held our first ever Voter Awareness Event on Friday. They're pretty fired up.

46247. arkymalarky - 2/29/2016 6:18:05 AM

I've never seen anything like it. Can't wait to see what happens Tues. Wish I was still teaching history and gvt

46248. iiibbb - 2/29/2016 5:56:52 PM

Ms No---

The proper way to address Bernie Voters is to say... "both are strong candidates who bring a lot of things to the table, but whoever winds up getting it I'm voting to ensure that there will be a supreme court in place that won't undo any of the political victories progressives have earned in the past 20 years or for the next 20 years".

It is utterly strange to me that as anti-Hillary I have been in the past (largely based on substantive issues I've had with her compared to other candidates), I find myself quite pro-Hillary with this field-----while all of these so-called "progressives" now hate her for some of the shallowest reasons I can imagine.

I'll try to suppress my cynicism for the little hypocritical fascists that run around calling themselves "progressives" these days.

46249. iiibbb - 2/29/2016 5:58:13 PM

There was also a recent article that points out that Hillary and Bernie have voted the same on 93% of issues... so they ain't that different.

46250. arkymalarky - 2/29/2016 7:26:18 PM

Some of that is GOP trolls. I think they were in the pumas as well. The majority aren't but there are some. The sincere ones will vote for her and I hope that if trump is the nominee that it will drive voters out who are rightly fearful of a trump presidency. This includes Republicans who are mortified at the impending train wreck.

46251. arkymalarky - 2/29/2016 7:55:05 PM

The other day I was trying to think of where I'd heard the word winning Used like Trump's been using it, and it suddenly dawned on me: Charlie Sheen.

46252. iiibbb - 2/29/2016 8:32:42 PM

Message # 46250 I must remind myself that most of the interactions I have with dyed in the wool Bernie supporters... as well as SJW/Progressives.... are vocal ones on the interwebs.

Mostly I am just not paying attention because a)I'm voting no matter what, and b) there is no way in hell I'm voting for any one of these fuckwits on the Republican side. I am not sure how long it will be before I'm even in a position to trust their motives as a party again.

46253. judithathome - 2/29/2016 9:57:43 PM

Breaking news: For the first time in 10 YEARS, Clarence Thomas asked questions in a hearing at the Supreme Court!
