Attempting to hyper-analyze and parse Trump's idiotic repetitive statements is like trying to interpret your dog's barks. The pundits' attempts to do so are just making them sound completely stupid.

46415. arkymalarky - 5/21/2016 3:51:52 AM

Chris Matthews et al are acting like what Trump says is so cryptic and has some kind of profound meaning that they just can't quite manage to get in order to see the complexity of his ideas and policy plans. Barf.

Still can't stand Mark Halperin. And the Wu Tang fanboi act is lame.

I want our $7M back from the Benghazi investigation.

46418. arkymalarky - 6/29/2016 9:27:54 PM

I'll let them keep it if a Dem majority takes control in January.

I really hope this site Manages to limp along for the election season.

What I'd really like is for us to hear back from Alistair so that we can move the site to our own server so that when connectivity issues happen, we can fix them right away.

46420. winstonsmith - 7/4/2016 6:06:23 AM

I am willing to donate to get the site hosted on a more stable platform.

46421. arkymalarky - 7/4/2016 6:36:53 PM

Agreed!!!

46422. Ms. No - 7/4/2016 7:57:21 PM

It's not a money thing --- I've got a server provider already that I've kept even though I don't make much use of it. There's plenty of room to move the Mote there, and they're 24/7 available if anything should happen. In the 15 years I've had it, I think I've been down fewer than 10 times.

As soon as we can get in touch with Alistair, we can move the Mote.

Only adults can get married in Virginia, according to a new law replacing policies that made it possible for a girl 13 or younger to marry if she had parental consent and was pregnant.

The law, which took effect Friday, sets the minimum marriage age at 18, or 16 if a child is emancipated by court order. It takes parents and pregnancy out of the equation...

Ok, really? How long did it take to get this passed in VA? Jeez Louise.

46424. Trillium - 7/5/2016 1:18:10 AM

"Why 13 year olds can no longer marry in Virginia"

Interesting article. "The change is aimed at curbing forced marriage, human trafficking and statutory rape disguised as marriage. Activists say the previous law created a “fast-track to child marriages” for abusers who could evade investigation by child-welfare officials by simply marrying their victims.

"Nearly 4,500 children under age 18 were married in Virginia from 2004 to 2013, according to data from the state’s Department of Health. That includes more than 200 children age 15 or younger."

Anatomy/psychology texts bring out the fact that the bone structures of females do not mature until around age 18, and childbearing before maturity will result in stunting (and possibly more hazardous childbirth from pelvis being too narrow). Sex trafficking of children and early adolescents is a whole different set of problems. Makes sense that they changed the law, although the targets will probably just move out of state/out of country to where this is still legal.

While I'm not in favor of 16-year-old pregnancies and marriages, it's hard to tell a 16-year-old anything if she's hardheaded

46425. winstonsmith - 7/5/2016 5:34:55 PM

And just like that, the email investigation is over with no charges.

46426. judithathome - 7/5/2016 8:04:12 PM

Oh, it's not over in Trumpworld...just wait!

46427. winstonsmith - 7/5/2016 10:41:02 PM

I'm sure you're right Judith but it certainly deflates the notion that she was in jeopardy and another candidate might need to be brought in to replace her.

46428. judithathome - 7/6/2016 9:25:47 PM

Just wait...there's talk of a House investigation committee like Behghazi.

The Republicans ought to give up while they are ahead...their worst nightmare should be someone else coming in at this late date to take her place...ANYONE would be better than THEIR "presumptive nominee."

46429. judithathome - 7/6/2016 9:28:08 PM

Yes, THEIR nominee who yesterday was praising Saddam Hussein.

If anything, this election should show the value of investing in education.

46430. Ms. No - 7/7/2016 5:44:27 AM

Or birth control.

46431. vonKreedon - 7/15/2016 7:55:21 PM

I'm really not looking forward to the House impeachment hearings about Hillary's email server.

OTOH, Trump/Pence is off to an excellent start. For one thing, Trumpence. "Feed the trolls, trumpence a bag...." For another, the logo for the campaign looks like it might produce some santorum:

46432. arkymalarky - 7/16/2016 5:44:12 AM

Hahaha!

Great to see you VK!

46433. vonKreedon - 7/16/2016 7:35:57 PM

No mistaking who's the top in that relationship.
