46647. arkymalarky - 11/4/2016 10:18:06 PM Attitudes like his are not helpful. And he's got an abnormal dislike of the Clintons which he is constitutionally incapable of hiding.
Hillary's been ahead the whole time. Yes, she may lose, but that is always a risk in this environment. Democrats need to be strong and positive and confident. Projecting anything else feeds a loser's mentality, which is deadly in campaigns. I'm making calls to newly registered voters through Monday night. You do everything you can to make positive things hapoen then deal with it if they don't, but despairing before you're defeated is pointless. Sullivan going on as a talking head with that attitude is helping trump and he should know that.
I call my 85 year old dad and have him talk me down every once in awhile, and the only time he's been concerned about the result was after she had pneumonia and her poll numbers dropped significantly. I'll take my dad's view over Sullivan's any day of the week. 46648. wabbit - 11/5/2016 3:05:04 PM Your dad rules! 46649. arkymalarky - 11/5/2016 3:34:43 PM Awwww! I will tell him you said so! 46650. judithathome - 11/5/2016 10:04:06 PM Well, I must be missing all Sullivan's appearences because I've only seen him one or two times in the last month or so...and I don't think he is nearly as egregious as 9/10ths of the others showing up these days.
Pick any blonde surrogate...and the one brunette...of Trumps who are absolutely bat-shit crazy and one or more of them is interviewd almost daily...especially AJ Delgado (shudder)....ALL of them are talking utter shit, not just one dying journalist.
However, when even David Frum casts his vote for Hillary...and advertises that fact (including on Bill Maher's show last night) it gives me a little more hope for the country than the rest of this insanity does. (Plus 28% of early Republican voters in Florida voted for Hillary!)
(And I think Rudy Gullianni should be arrested for crimes against the nation. But I've thought that for a long time...my actual hope is that President Trump just doesn't appoint Rudy head of the FBI...) 46651. Trillium - 11/6/2016 4:08:49 PM When the "Pepe" meme first appeared in the news, like most people I had to look it up. "Pepe" cartoons are a kid/reddit thing, not exactly mainstream Know Your Meme: Pepe
There are apparently a huge variety of Pepe cartoons. For general viewing pleasure, a Matrix-themed "Neo Pepe" 46652. Trillium - 11/6/2016 4:11:01 PM Assigning disrespectful nicknames is a schoolyard bullying technique. It's out of place in schoolyards (teachers should discourage this, not engage in it) and out of place in adult political discussions. Stop it Arky, you know better 46653. Trillium - 11/6/2016 4:18:01 PM I had thought "Alt Right" was another idiot invented term without a constituency. However, a British gay activist who speaks at college campuses ("Dangerous Faggot Tour") has defined "Alt Right" in the following BBC interview -- so apparently "Alt Right" is legit.
If you're permitted to watch Breitbart, go ahead with the link, the description is in there
BBC interviews Milo 46654. arkymalarky - 11/6/2016 5:01:25 PM As you well know it's a self-created euphemism for white nationalist.
But hey, I recognize in the URL the guy that was banned from Twitter for harassing Leslie Jones. 46655. arkymalarky - 11/6/2016 5:02:50 PM And my phone is water resistant, but it's not soap resistent, so I really don't touch Breitbart with it. 46656. arkymalarky - 11/6/2016 5:04:50 PM And my, you are as thin skinned as your candidate. And if Pepe is so innocuous, surely it doesn't bother you to be tagged with that moniker. 46657. Trillium - 11/6/2016 6:16:20 PM As you and your party leadership knows, Pepe is a cartoon joke and the attempt to recast "Pepe" is a pathetic failure that made the hardworking propagandists into laughingstock on Reddit.
No, I'm not thin-skinned or I wouldn't post here (or read Reddit). On the other hand, if you are a teacher you should understand that namecalling is not appropriate social behavior. Attempts at bullying are poor example from adults 46658. Trillium - 11/6/2016 6:18:32 PM Milo Yiannopoulos is not for the thin-skinned, either. Go ahead, see if you can counter his arguments. You can't. 46659. arkymalarky - 11/6/2016 7:50:23 PM You're laughable and pathetic. I can't counter his arguments with anyone who believes going into them that black people are inferior, and I don't intend to waste time trying. I've been aware of your stripes for a long time, but then finally you exposed yourself in this campaign season. If I helped that along in any way I'm proud of myself.
You continue as you choose, and I will continue to counter your thinly veiled venom every time. If you don't like that, too bad. I promise not to chase you inti your Breitbart swamp. But here, no such promises. 46660. judithathome - 11/6/2016 8:15:14 PM Attempts at bullying are poor example from adults
Tell your hero that.... 46661. judithathome - 11/6/2016 8:16:11 PM Oh look...I got the "666"...isn't THAT special! 46662. Trillium - 11/6/2016 10:17:01 PM Utterly false accusation. Not a racial supremacist of any kind -- I find racial theories goofy, although they were the height of fashion a century ago. You, Arky, are the one who constantly seeks to reinforce bogus racial categories.
Your mis-characterization of violence in Fruitvale was illustrative. You attributed a San Francisco tragedy to racism instead of rampant gang crime and violence. It is extremely difficult to teach in that environment, and even more difficult to police. Very few decent people can thrive in those workplaces, where staff turnover is massive, and nervous newbies can make horrible mistakes. In the Fruitvale case, the newbie who killed, went to jail -- meanwhile innumerable gang killings go unpunished, because the Fruitvale residents are justifiably afraid to confront the murderers.
Then, you eagerly transmitted your misguided ignorance to your students. Everything is about race, for racists -- then you project that racism onto others. Deplorable. 46663. arkymalarky - 11/6/2016 10:38:34 PM *ribbit*
In other news, the FBI sent out an email explaining that there was no there there with regard to the extra emails they posted about the other day, throwing the whole campaign into a tailspin. Surprise surprise. 46664. judithathome - 11/6/2016 11:12:46 PM 48 effing hours before the vote and this asshole FBI director decides..."OOPSIE!! Nothing to see here, move along!!"
They are saying Trump was late deplanning at his campaign stop after Comey's letter was just made public...they probaby had to lure him away from his snit fit with a dozen brownies or something!
However, I'm not so sure this will save Comey's job when Hillary is sworn in as Madam President! But at least it may save us from Trump appointing Guilliani!
46665. winstonsmith - 11/6/2016 11:22:03 PM Hmm, seems like they could have done the research before announcing anything and skipped the whole mess. So this means that either:
1. Comey willfully chose to drop a half-baked bombshell that he knew would effect the election.
Or
2. He was, as he stated, forced to release it because of rogue elements in the FBI who would have leaked it.
Either way, it makes him and the FBI look really bad. 46666. judithathome - 11/7/2016 3:58:04 AM No shit, it does. As you say...either way.
