The man is a fraud...he appealled to people who were pissed off about the election of a black man to the highest office in the land and he was able to convice these malcontents that a SHYSTER was better than someone with intelligence and compassion for the least amomg us.

However, reality tells me it is highly unlikely for a Democrat to win after 8 years of another Democrat....it's as though the country needs to hit bottom before before they see the light.

1) In my heart of hearts I believe in the arc of justice on race and on gender. I do honestly believe that this country will eventually reach a satisfactory place on these issues one day.
2) Climate change is not going to be as forgiving. I am barely convinced that the world will now not suffer some cataclysm due to climate change. I don't know how many will suffer... but it's going to be a lot and unlike social issues that have setbacks... there's no redo on this issue.
3) I am so angry with my mother from NC who voted Trump after almost not voting for him. She's voted R her whole life and it wasn't enough. I work in Renewable Energy told her that Trump's election likely will result in me losing my job and she was incredulous. When I told her that of the few things Trump has not been vague about it's been climate change denial and his desire to increase fossil fuel extraction. They also want to cut taxes and spending.... I'm soft money funded... I am literally the easiest and first kind of guy they get rid of.
She told me I should have more faith and write my senator and fight for my job--- as if that would offset an election 'mandate'.
I'm so mad at here I can't stand it and I really need to figure out how to process these feelings without creating a rift... because I am distraught. I've rejiggered my career credentials 5 times since I graduated and every time I get into something market or political events collapse that area of research or industry. Yet she gets on me for not having faith.
To put the to key points she brought up while discussing it is... "[what about the economy... my checking acount earns less than 1%]" and "[What about the coal miners, that work is all they know]"

Ironically, the people who are going to be most hurt by the Trump election are the ones who voted for him. We had different cheeses, crackers, caviar, grapes, smoked salmon, etc...and champagne.

I like when people express themselves and exercise their rights. Protests and dissent have never bothered me even when I don't agree with them. The only way we protect our freedoms is to utilize them.
I Understand how a lot of people feel like you do; what stresses me the most though is it seems that nobody on his team has a clue what they're doing. That may work out okay, but it's not comfortable knowing that the person in charge doesn't know how to do the job, especially in the nuclear age. 46712. judithathome - 11/16/2016 10:16:14 PM Well, at the rate his team is failing to fill open offices/appointments, and knowing he has 4,000 positions to go...he might think about foregoing a dinner out and buckle down and get this ONE job done before thumbing his nose at tradition.
All I can say is, we expected...and got...appointments and hirings before Obama took the oath of office. And even Bush, Jr. had things well in hand...I don't expect this president to mirror anything like that.
Obama had at least served in the Senate before. And GW Bush had run a STATE before and whether that was a nightmare or not, he had SOME knowledge of how government worked and it served him...I won't say for "well" or "not"...but he also had competent people around him who filled the gaps.
Just as with the Apprentice "hirees", the winning was all there was...very few of them were heard from again.
