Not by criticizing it, which they're right to do, but the way they were deriding it and making fun of it. I think it was excellent. They need to organize like hell between now and 2018 and do whatever they can to keep from losing the gains that they've made between now and then, and the only way to do that is to try to make sure that middle of the road middle of the country people communicate as much to their senators and representatives. Otherwise this could unravel really fast and it would be impossible to rebuild it. The future of the Dems...and the country...is YOUTH. They're the ones organizing and needing to be enthusiastic and they have their own ideas about how they live and WANT TO live and what they inherit. They are the ones whose communication is all digital...can you honestly SEE Gov. Bashear tweeting from a cell phone and reaching 50,000 people and urging them to meet up somewhere to demonstrate?
The governor isn't going to inspire any young person to run for local office and change things from within...yeah, he was sweet and folksy and aside from that one flub when he said he was a Republican, he delivered a folksy little homily to those who bothered to stick around for it. To save ACA the youngest are the least effective block. Scared older people exactly like what we are seeing in town halls are the most effective and already have gop legislators very afraid of touching ACA. The Dems must keep that demographic active because they have the most impact on current members of congress.
If they manage to repeal ACA, the US will never get it back, no matter how many seats they win. It's much more effective to use different means of messaging to young people. And the media is still not doing the job it should. They need to STFU about the outrageous but ultimately meaningless Trump antics and hammer the shit out of the lies and coverups and the total failure of the Legislative Branch to protect our country and our democracy from ruin.
I don't know that we can recover from this. Once you've accepted that the President of the United States is going to go on record DAILY with yet another complete falsehood, that egregious and ridiculous lies are just a matter of course for his entire administration, how the hell do you come back from that? I don't think you do.
It's kind of like if somebody takes a dump on a dinner plate -- doesn't matter how many times you wash it, nobody ever wants to eat off it again.

The majority literally threaten, assault, and beat down the minority viewpoint in those places. It is not a credit to Trump's opposition.

Violence against minorities has always happened -- it happened during the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s -- but it's always against founding principles of the country, and always disgusting to people who value freedom of expression, whether perpetrated against Muslims, Sikhs, Jews, or -- Trump voters

It appears it's not working for them at the moment, but dems have to play this smart between now and 2018 and work very hard and efficiently to hold or even gain ground, and that will be hard for them. But I keep expecting somebody to take him in hand and his government just start working like a well-oiled machine, pun intended, but when you look at who's there they just don't have that capability I don't think. How is everything and your own power and put Your hands in the air and hope the roller coaster comes to a stop before it flies off the rail.
