797. CalGal - 1/7/2000 11:56:31 PM Hey, Dusty, I tried that with a sound file and it didn't work. Is it only for midi format?
798. CalGal - 1/8/2000 1:01:31 AM Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I think I caught all the corrections. I'll probably work on the format in the future, but for now I just wanted to get the basics out there. 799. Candide - 1/8/2000 7:36:00 AM Git that goddam choon offa my screen Dusty. No hard feelings - YET,
CalGal It showed up in HTML and it opens automatically with this thread as well as "Arts and Music'.
See Dusty? I told teacher. 800. dusty - 1/8/2000 10:12:31 AM Candide
really?
I set autostart to false.
Can you specify your brower name and version?
As well as specifying which sound you hear?
I want to track this down. 801. dusty - 1/8/2000 10:28:58 AM CalGal
I tried with a wav file, and I think it worked. I find a better one and post it here, but I want to track down the potential problem that Candide mentioned. 802. dusty - 1/8/2000 10:30:57 AM Candide
See Dusty? I told teacher.
??? Did you misread the host name? 803. robertjayb - 1/8/2000 11:39:55 AM helpilostmycookies 804. CalGal - 1/8/2000 1:22:05 PM Dusty,
I have a feeling it is a Java problem, not an HTML issue. Candide, what browser version do you use? 805. Dusty - 1/9/2000 1:10:16 AM CG, so do I, hence my request for browser name and version. 806. Thoughtful - 1/9/2000 6:11:47 AM calgal, nice summary of html basics. One thing I would like to see added under fonts & colors is a link to the color by name page which I find easier to use than hex stuff: here.
Thanks for your good work! 807. CalGal - 1/9/2000 8:45:27 AM Thoughtful,
Done--check it out when you have a moment, see if it's what you wanted. 808. dusty - 1/9/2000 10:21:21 AM CalGal
Looks Great!
I like what you said about Mock posts. I don't know if that is new, but if not, I didn't see it before. I think it covers the issues nicely.
I started to ask where the color table was, then i accidentally clicked on it and found it. I'll suggest that it is a bit hidden, but if no one else has a problem, nothing needs to be done.
A minor suggestion on the sound section (very nice btw), if someone copies the material in there as a start, they will pick up "Loop='true' ". I suggest you change it to False. In most cases, people shouldn't want the piece to play over and over again. Some might not realize what that attribute is, and just copy it as is.
As usual, great job. 809. Thoughtful - 1/10/2000 5:02:53 AM Calgal, that's fine. Thanks. 810. soupisgoodfood - 1/11/2000 1:10:55 AM Dusty, question for you in "Arts & Music." 811. soupisgoodfood - 1/11/2000 1:13:42 AM Re: HTML Hints
the "Combine Links and Images" sample code is wrong
And I got an annoying Geocities popup when I went there. 812. Dusty - 1/11/2000 2:19:19 AM soupisgoodfood
You got an annoying Geocities popup, because HTML hints is on a Geocities semi-free page.
I'll let CG address the code issue, but thanks in advance for testing it. And I'm headed for Arts & Music.
813. CalGal - 1/11/2000 7:50:11 AM Yes, I haven't converted the HTML Hints to the server yet--I built it back in the early days. Alistair is still moving us to a new dev server and I'll fix it then.
I copied the text in the example right above it and apparently never finished editing it. Lazy me. Thanks for catching it! 815. alistairconnor - 1/11/2000 11:25:27 AM Have you anything interesting to say?
noooooooooooooo.
816. alistairconnor - 1/11/2000 11:28:22 AM I'd just like to point out, F*** X, that if you persist in not closing your HTML tags, it's going to piss people off. Then the moderator will turn off your HTML privileges. So if you want to keep them, please close your tags. 818. CalGal - 1/11/2000 2:41:28 PM I mention the align problem in the HTML hints--mainly with images, since that is the only time that someone would want to use align unless they want to be a little shit.
