CalGal

Looks Great!

I like what you said about Mock posts. I don't know if that is new, but if not, I didn't see it before. I think it covers the issues nicely.

I started to ask where the color table was, then i accidentally clicked on it and found it. I'll suggest that it is a bit hidden, but if no one else has a problem, nothing needs to be done.

A minor suggestion on the sound section (very nice btw), if someone copies the material in there as a start, they will pick up "Loop='true' ". I suggest you change it to False. In most cases, people shouldn't want the piece to play over and over again. Some might not realize what that attribute is, and just copy it as is.

As usual, great job.

Calgal, that's fine. Thanks.

Dusty, question for you in "Arts & Music."

Re: HTML Hints
the "Combine Links and Images" sample code is wrong

And I got an annoying Geocities popup when I went there.

812. Dusty - 1/11/2000 2:19:19 AM

soupisgoodfood

You got an annoying Geocities popup, because HTML hints is on a Geocities semi-free page.

I'll let CG address the code issue, but thanks in advance for testing it. And I'm headed for Arts & Music.

813. CalGal - 1/11/2000 7:50:11 AM

Yes, I haven't converted the HTML Hints to the server yet--I built it back in the early days. Alistair is still moving us to a new dev server and I'll fix it then.

I copied the text in the example right above it and apparently never finished editing it. Lazy me. Thanks for catching it!

815. alistairconnor - 1/11/2000 11:25:27 AM

Have you anything interesting to say?

noooooooooooooo.

816. alistairconnor - 1/11/2000 11:28:22 AM

I'd just like to point out, F*** X, that if you persist in not closing your HTML tags, it's going to piss people off. Then the moderator will turn off your HTML privileges. So if you want to keep them, please close your tags.

818. CalGal - 1/11/2000 2:41:28 PM

I mention the align problem in the HTML hints--mainly with images, since that is the only time that someone would want to use align unless they want to be a little shit.

FX

I removed all of your recent posts. This is the place to try things. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were testing things, but you are making a mess.

BTW, I think some of your posts simply contained commentary, and no offending HTML blunders, but I didn't have the time to weed out the chat form the chaff, so I erased all posts with your name until the site looked normal again. If you had some other things to say, I trust you saved them, and you can repost them.

We provide a lot of leeway in terms of HTML usage, but please don't abuse it. This isn't a multi-million dollar operation with a dedicated staff to compartmentalize potential errors—it is a volunteer site.

FX

BTW, you clearly have some talents wrt HTML coding of special effects. I think others might be interested in how to do some of them (the ones that are useful, not the ones that are disruptive.)

Several people here do have a decent clue about HTML (and I don't count myself among them)—some of your posts where you "discovered" white font remind me of teenagers who think they discovered sex—we were using white font in the last century and grew out of it, long before you showed up. But if you know tricks that we haven't seen, and you care to share, this is a good place for it.

Thats what happens when you try things asshole. Your mass deletion doesn't bother me a bit. I was just finding out the limits. Now I know how assfuck your system in ways you can't imagine.

All the more reason to use manners dipshit. You never know when someone might consider you fair game for a bit of fun. If you and your asshole friends had treated me with one bit of decency I would have had some fun, got bored and left. Now you are just on my shit list.

Oh don't worry fuckface, you haven't seen half the shit that is going to rain on your parade.

Wrong shit for brains. Nobody had ever done the hide the next post trick. Which is why your clueless shit head friends were whining about it.

845. CalGal - 1/12/2000 11:39:50 AM

Why is it that so many of the TT politics folks that show up here come off as borderline psychotic?

846. joezan - 1/12/2000 11:42:35 AM

Borderline?

847. CalGal - 1/12/2000 11:44:36 AM

I try to be kind.

851. alistairConnor - 1/12/2000 4:13:10 PM

Congratulations FX, you've made me laugh, at last. OK, you passed the test.

Now, grow up.

857. Dusty - 1/12/2000 9:56:37 PM

I cleaned out the oversized posts by FX. I copied the code, reduced the font sizes and reposted, just in case anyone is interested in seeing what he/she is doing.
