Going to see The Rivals this afternoon...can't beat those 1775 plays!

It has one of Keoni's favorite characters in it: Mrs. Malaprop.

It was FABULOUS!

I was at the University of Texas two weeks ago and there was a memorial dedicated to the Americans killed in Yemen by drone attacks. Ummmm.....

I haven't seen the Dolly Parton Dior commercial. I have seen the Princess Grace and Marilyn Monroe Dior commercial. (?)

Trillium,

I am with you on movies sensationalizing racial struggles, especially now.

It's interesting that "Gangster Squad" had an entire sequence rewritten and taken out of the movie because of what happened in Aurora, Colorado, yet they're still pushing for movies with racial stereotypes and that can incite violence.

I'm sure some Hollywood big name will get behind a Trayvon Martin biopic next.

And, Spielberg is a nice guy and the consummate professional from everyone I know who has worked with him.

I haven't seen the Dolly Parton Dior commercial.

She's not IN the ad, she's singing the song that plays in the background.

I don't think so...

Wow. I had looked it up and saw dp's name in the results and assumed it was her. I didn't click on any off them. She's still cool though.

Can't get the link to work...who is it, then?

I guess Dolly is little "raw" for Dior, come to think of it.

But who knows...that could be a whole new level of marketing for them.S

Dolly seems like a nice person. I agree with you!

8974. arkymalarky - 12/5/2013 12:17:54 AM

she's also very smart and an excellent songwriter. I didn't realize that when I was growing up, but listening to covers of her songs by other people as an adult I'm giving her another listen. She's got a whole lot of talent and brains and she gives back, which I always admire.

Loretta Lynn is another one.

RIP Peter O'Toole. The honorary Oscar winner passed away at age 81 after a long illness on Saturday at the Wellington Hospital in London, his agent Steve Kenis reports...

8977. judithathome - 12/16/2013 1:10:56 AM

Thank god his obit listed Lawrence Of Arabia as his most esteemed role...I can promise you that had he been in even one of the Harry Potter movies, THAT would have been his epitaph.

I nearly croaked myself when Richard Harris died and the obits all started with "The actor who played (whomever) in the Harry Potter movies...." like he'd never been in anything else.

RIP Joan Fontaine Joan Fontaine, the patrician blond actress who rose to stardom as a haunted second wife in the Alfred Hitchcock film “Rebecca” in 1940 and won an Academy Award for her portrayal of a terrified newlywed in Hitchcock’s “Suspicion,” died at her home in Carmel, Calif., on Sunday. She was 96...

RIP Bill Jack Tom Laughlin, the actor who wrote and starred in the "Billy Jack" films of the 1970s, died Thursday, his family confirmed Sunday. He was 82...

Rebecca is one of my favorite books. I love the movie adaptation, too!

I stayed at her sister's ranch in Boerne, TX, a few years ago. Yes, Olivia had some pristine Hill Country acreage. I believe she has sold it all since.

We went to see American Hustle yesterday...highly recommend this movie. It's based on the late 70s AbScam brouhaha and is totally believable...ha!

Very authentic sets, wardrobe, music, everything is correct down to the last detail. Funny but also serious to a degree. No chase scenes, no explosions, no gruesome decapitations, no super-heroes to the rescue.

The acting is outstanding...across the board.
