thank you Lem. We'll miss you, buddy. Hope you really enjoy your day-to-days and have a lot of good ones as well. and maybe you'll get back in the library and drop in every little while. If not, it's been great. the whole fray/mote bus ride has been great.

28044. Ms. No - 6/19/2014 8:30:02 PM

Aw, man! Good to see you Lem and sorry you'll be absent, but I wish you excellent unplugged adventures!

28045. wabbit - 6/19/2014 9:52:27 PM

I agree with Ms. No and arky, drop in whenever you can. Meanwhile, enjoy being unhooked!

28046. arkymalarky - 6/24/2014 1:08:23 AM

Fan. Tastic. Weekend! Wabbit, prepare yourself for next summer. You will be kidnapped. ;)

28047. arkymalarky - 6/25/2014 3:49:41 PM

I didn't mean to scare off everybody. I was just joking. I promise not to kidnap wabbit.

Hey, made it home fine and vegged out all day yesterday...one thing I am bringing next year is a necklace of garlic, though...those little bites I got the last night on the porch are MADDENING. Never had anything itch like this.

Arkansas mosquitoes would win hands down in a bite-off with Texas mosquitoes...no contest! ;-)

28049. wabbit - 6/25/2014 7:44:43 PM

I would love to have been there. I had to rush one of my furs to the vet early Saturday morning and ended up putting her down. Vet said it was probably a burst tumor that went undetected. She had never been sick a day since I've had her (13 years). She was my shadow, attached to me at the hip and I miss her terribly. My weekend sucked.

Next year...

In happier news, evidently this is sloth week - Happy Sloth Week!

28051. arkymalarky - 6/25/2014 9:08:53 PM

Oh Wabbit, I'm so sorry!

Back from cousins' reunion in Norman OK...great fun! Arky, tell Ronnie that Keoni taught a younger generation how to make the breakfast casserole and biscuits...with excellent results!

And Jenerator: it pays to teach your students well: my cousin is a professor of ancient Greek at OU and one of his former (and favorite) students opened a wine shop in Norman. And my cousin...and by connection now, I...get a huge discount on wine.

The kid gave me half a case of Brunello at $20 a bottle...listed for $54.99 a pop.;-)

Best thing of all...the shop is one block from my cousin's house!

28054. arkymalarky - 6/30/2014 1:01:38 AM

How nice!

I'm practicing on the wok, so Keoni is just contributing to good eating all around!

28055. judithathome - 6/30/2014 1:12:30 AM

Ha!! I'll let him know!

28056. arkymalarky - 6/30/2014 1:22:28 AM

I am going to buy a smaller wok. That one is just too large for me to control. I'm pretty wimpy.

28057. judithathome - 6/30/2014 5:02:29 PM

I think that's a great idea...for no more than you'll be making for the two of you, that wok you have now is WAY too big...you could feed a family of 14 with that one! It's actually restaurant-sized.

Just popping in to say what an awesome time was had in the wilds of Arkansas. God I love hanging out with the crew there. I'm excited to try Ronnie's chicken and dumplings recipe once I get home. I'd like to master it for the Fall and Winter. I've got his number now, so I can bug him at any moment for tips!

I continued my life of leisure in the wilds of western Carolina --- my little brother and I are now thick as thieves. Like my Dad's wife a lot, and had a good time hanging out on yet another porch looking at beautiful country side.

Arrived in NYC Friday night and am having a relaxed blast here as well. We've been watching the World Cup from various locales, hanging out in Washington Square park, visiting with their friends and generally just being city-folk. My brother was like "Don't you want to see a show?" but I honestly don't care much about that. I think it would be cool to see STOMP, but I'd rather just hang out and soak up the city.

Spending the day today with my SiL while my brother is on a business day-trip. We're headed to lunch, to the bookstore and then just wandering around to see what kind of trouble we can get into.

28059. Ms. No - 6/30/2014 5:55:25 PM

Wabbit,

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. Cuddle up the others -- or at least those who will be cuddled.

28060. arkymalarky - 6/30/2014 6:33:39 PM

hey nonny! So glad you're having such a good trip! It's pretty cool to get to be a city mouse and a country mouse within the space of a couple weeks!

28061. judithathome - 6/30/2014 10:41:28 PM

MsNo, it's not like you can't see "Stomp" where you live....

Just the mention of Ronnie's Chicken and Dumplings makes me ravenous...

28062. arkymalarky - 7/1/2014 11:49:42 PM

Judith, the stacking game I was trying to think of when you all were here is called the Tower of Hanoi, and it's also known as arkymalarky.
