I think the US electorate has reached an inflection point. Broadly, self interest has totally replaced civic responsibility in peoples' electoral choices. That is surely not what old school Lefties believe is going on, but that is the predominant operative reality.

Re. 45102 -

A purely vengeful post.

Deny deny deny....good plan!

45106. iiibbb - 11/7/2012 6:45:50 AM

Since I've been of age to vote---

I've voted

Bush 1 for the win
Clinton 1 for the win
Dole for the loss
Bush 2 for the "win" (voted McCain in SC primary)
Kerry for the loss
Obama for the win.
Obama for the win

So it's a pretty close split.

However... as Republicans continue to be unrepentant about unfunded wars and continue to embrace religion over science on science issues, you're right, I probably will have a tough time voting Republican for a while.

But I do believe in smallish government.
I do believe in fiscal responsibility.
I do believe that entitlements are more like ponzi schemes than social safety nets.

You have posred vengeful BS for MONTHS! Give me a break!

45108. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:47:00 AM

Romney's awful because he won't concede just yet? Puhleeze.

Gore dragged it on until what, December in 2000, and that was just fine with Lefties.

45109. judithathome - 11/7/2012 6:47:32 AM

(#45107) was to Con'd.

45110. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:48:29 AM

Re, 45107 -

No I haven't. Sarcastic, ironic, and pointing out obvious stupidities are not vengeful.

45111. judithathome - 11/7/2012 6:48:30 AM

Yes, it was fine with lefties because he won the popular vote!!!!

45112. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:49:01 AM

Or was it January 2001?

45113. judithathome - 11/7/2012 6:49:31 AM

Goodnight, sour prince...may lefties guide your way to sleep!

45114. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:50:40 AM

Re. 45111 -

Such a lack of class...they just cannot believe they lost after ALL their money and conniving and lying and bullshit.

Pure vengefulness is all I see here.

45115. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:51:47 AM

Good bye, standard of living. Good bye, common decency.

45116. arkymalarky - 11/7/2012 6:52:33 AM

YAYAYAYAYAYAYA!

45117. iiibbb - 11/7/2012 6:53:23 AM

538 is knocking it out of the park....

45118. arkymalarky - 11/7/2012 6:53:27 AM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I love the whine of losers in the evening!

45119. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:56:49 AM

Good bye, future for our children who now will see a great increase in their current 'birthright' of over $200,000 per child of government debt.

Good bye, decent standard of health care for senior citizens who can now expect to see nearly a trillion dollars chopped out of their Medicare benefits. No more mobility from joint replacements, good-bye, anything but palliative care for anything but early stage cancer.

45120. iiibbb - 11/7/2012 6:57:25 AM

I still think Bush2 won over Gore ...

... and I'm still glad we don't elect presidents based on popular vote because I still think it would allow candidates to ignore places with low populations.

The electoral college may need to go, but it shouldn't be replaced with popular vote.

45121. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:58:04 AM

arky -

I'm sorry to say that you have proven to me that I was more mature than you are when I was eight years old.

45122. concerned - 11/7/2012 6:59:24 AM

Or at least that's the way it seems now.
