I have two twitter accounts, mostly to tie up the names, have never used either one. I don't have any idea what I could tweet. I think I could come up with a few fun vines.

Wow, that's a surprise. Very sad.

Mose just told us about that not ten minutes ago. That is a shame.

A kid put me on vine when I rapped that time but I've never used it. Another kid sent me the video so I'd know how crazy I looked.

I thought he was older. Sounds like he was really struggling. His mind was so fast.

I would have thought he was safe from that end by this point, although, I'm not sure why - depressive and bi-polar disorders are progressive. How sad, he was such a brilliant comic.

Hey JaH, I just caught "L Word Mississippi", missed the first 15 minutes, but really interesting and something I would have missed if you hadn't mentioned it, so thanks! The "cycle of intolerance" is really sad to see. The parents who dumped their pregnant daughter's childhood possessions, toys, pictures etc. on her doorstep, the son so worried about his mother pretending to be straight...what a world. "Come as you are, Jesus is waiting"?? Wow.

Sorry I'm no longer able to do links (I'm on the road right now), but this is an absolutely fantastic host on language learning:

12 Rules for Learning Foreign Languages in Record Time

Thanks. This is good. Was just talking with someone today about learning Spanish. I suggested that she check out Pimsleur from the Public Library (free resource) -- Pimsleur is used by Doctors Without Borders, among other organizations, and each lesson is only 30 minutes, which is do-able for most people.

The article lists several other free resources.

thanks for the link! I use Duolingo and really like it.

just downloaded the pimsleur app. I'll check it out over break.

Have you guys heard of this thing: The Elf On The Shelf

Sounds more like Big Brother...sure, kiddies...get used to being WATCHED 24/7.

And what about the "obstinate" kiddoes who act out and do bad things ANYHOW? They still get what they want for Christmas...that boat of "naughty or nice" sailed long ago; kids today get everything they want regardless. So bad behavior (observed by Santa via his SpyElf) gets rewarded. No pay-off for being GOOD, right?

You want to know how to make your kid behave? Interact with them, teach them ethical standards, and set a good example. Don't rely on some asshole spy-cam toy. Sheesh.

I don't get the Elf on the Shelf. When did that become a thing?

Of course, I didn't understand Teletubbies either. Thought they were weird and scary - TV for pre-verbal children. Couldn't believe parents were really relying on people they didn't know to entertain and train their offspring. Of course, if Jerry Falwell was against it, maybe it was worthwhile after all.

If I recall, it started in elementary schools with elementary teachers.

btw, if anyone is in Boston in the next couple weeks, the Goya exhibit at the MFA is well worth seeing.
