And another: this is a great outcome from that BS that ate Twitter and the internet and cable news last week: Why Is It So Hard To See Black and Blue?

I love that first one --- that's on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. I got misty watching it, and that song always gets me going. If you've never hears all of it, don't let the fact that it's sort of hip-hop distract you from the lyrics. (unless you're a fan of hip-hop, in which case it won't bug you at all.)

I got misty watching it

Me, too...and no worries about the music. If it "gets" you, YOU get IT.

RIP Gene Patton

Gene Gene the Dancing Machine

Awww....at least he outlived everyone else in that clip!

Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy New Year to those who celebrate Theravada.

I'm watching The Bible. Reasonably well done, overwrought, but okay television, the OT's Greatest Hits. But is it a documentary? Comcast needs to add docudrama to their category listings.

I didn't know Roma Downey was married to Mark Burnett.

I had to laugh when I saw a trailer where some critic was claiming that A.D. is "House of Cards meets Game of Thrones."

Seriously? Has this person ever seen a single episode of either of those shows?

Every time I see the Step Up movies I wish I had learned to dance when I was young.
Step Up series

WOW...props to AT&T for the "It Can Wait" campaign...mother in car with small child in kiddyseat in back...mom looking at her phone while driving on a bucolic street turns to look at the kid and says "Everyone loves the picture I posted of you!" and BAM...her car hits a dump truck head-on.

The ad starts in slow-motion of everyone's reaction going in reverse...

Quite....impactive!!

Prince dead at 57.....

9113. arkymalarky - 4/22/2016 1:23:57 AM

So bummed

A real loss. A great artist and phenomenal guitar player. He was the whole package. Nobody like him and not likely to be again. Purple Rain was the first (only) R-rated movie I ever snuck into.

9115. judithathome - 4/22/2016 5:55:24 PM

I think David Bowie gave him a run for his money...IMO only.

9116. arkymalarky - 4/23/2016 3:05:00 AM

I've never seen anyone perform in terms of playing multiple instruments, singing, dancing in ways that defy gravity, as Prince did. And amazing songs he Wrote for other people to perform, and the production from all stages, beginning to end. I can't think of anyone in music who had a command of so many aspects of Performing like Prince did. And he just dripped sexy. Justin Timberlake might have brought sexy back on performing, but IMO Prince defined it.

9117. arkymalarky - 4/23/2016 3:06:35 AM

All the clips of his performances the last couple of days his eyes just melt me every single time.

Judith - I will always and forever pray at the alter of Bowie. He is my forever-favorite, hands down. His legacy is so deep and so wide in the world.

I like to think of Prince as a real heir to Bowie in so many ways, but I have to give it up to Prince on the guitar skills. Maybe one of the ten best ever guitarists in the world.

What a shitty, awful year for music.

9120. judithathome - 4/24/2016 8:55:41 PM

Well...my favorite guitar artist was Andre Segovia...so there we go. ;-)

9121. Ms. No - 4/25/2016 5:58:12 AM

Ooh! You might like Rodriqo y Gabrielle, Judith. Try a clip of Diablo Rojo or Orion.
